Internship with Primera Interiors

As students at Transylvania College, every year the school gives us the opportunity to spend two weeks at a company to practice and learn new things. It is what in the United States is known as an internship. We chose Primera because it is a well-known interior design firm and we thought it would be a great opportunity to learn from the best.

In the two weeks we spent here, we were involved in several activities, all different and which showed us the process of implementing an interior design project. For example, we worked with 2D plans, materials and color combinations and we observed in detail the work of those who work here. Thus, we understood much better the concept of this job and all that it entails.

The time spent here was very special because we learned new things, which are part of the daily life of an interior design team. We recommend this experience to any student who wants to further approach this field and also to students who are undecided and want to try more options. It's an amazing experience that gave us the chance to see things from a completely different perspective than we had imagined.

There are aspects that I like most about my internship. My interaction with the staff makes me appreciate what I learn in the internship. Being able to network with others and expand my career options was the most beneficial aspect of my experience. I would definitely recommend this experience because it made me realize that I love the field of design. Internships are very beneficial for students and anyone trying to gain experience. I had a great internship experience and learned so many skills. It definitely prepared me for the real world of the field. The internship gave me the opportunity to practice my communication and teamwork skills.
